Yep, like the pilot who shortly after 9/11 stood at the front of the plane with the cockpit fireaxe and said:
"This is up on the flightdeck with me all the time, it's so sharp I could shave with it...so if anyone feels like breaking their way in to hijack this place, be my guest."
The problem is the idiots in charge.
You can't allow people to take guns on planes, because they'll hijack the plane...but the pilots can't take guns either, because they'll get them taken off them and used against them.
In other words, in the hands of a torrorist, a gun in an unsurmountable weapon. In the hands of a pilot, it's a liability.
If the 9/11 pilots had sidearms, the twin towers would still be standing...it's that simple.
